David René is a Chicago-based freelance hair and makeup artist specializing in luxury on-location beauty services. His work is inspired by boho elegance, chic hairstyles, and soft glam makeup, always enhancing natural beauty with a refined, modern touch.
Originally from Mexico, David holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and began his professional journey in the beauty industry in 2014. He is a certified international makeup artist through Glam Lab Makeup Studios & Academy in Chicago and has advanced training in makeup for photography, mentored by renowned celebrity makeup artist Danessa Myricks.
Throughout his career, David has collaborated with brands and platforms such as L’Oréal Paris, Chicago Style Weddings Magazine, and has worked behind the scenes at bridal shows, fashion weeks, editorial shoots, and major events across Chicago and Milwaukee.
His experience also includes working with creative teams for events like Lollapalooza, ClickCon, and providing beauty services for TED Talk speakers, photographers, content creators, musicians, and on-camera personalities.
David has had the honor of working with notable figures including Ashlee Piper, Catie Keogh, Pia Wurtzbach (Miss Universe 2015), Anne Lamont, Val Warner and anchors from ABC7 Eyewitness News Chicago. His work has been featured in both print and digital publications such as Edith, Intra, and Fienfh magazines.
Currently, David serves as a lead hair and makeup artist at Vavoom Studios in Chicago while continuing to provide personalized services for brides, creatives, and professionals throughout the Chicagoland area.
When he’s not working, David enjoys creating handmade dolls, practicing meditation, and being a proud dog dad.
